Principals

Mr. George I. Boniface, a graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, was the founder and President of Carolina Foreign Exchange from 1990 to 2003. After several years in retirement, Mr. Boniface decided to reenter the business environment after developing a business plan for OERVIND Currency Systems. He met with several members of The Citadel Faculty to pursue this idea.

Dr. John I. Moore, Head of Computer Sciences and Mathematics has a wide range of computing experience in both industry and academia, with specific expertise in the area of object-oriented technology, software engineering, and e-commerce. He has designed and developed software using several high order languages and data-based systems. Dr. Moore's technical and project leadership on a variety of software intensive projects is well documented. He has developed and taught numerous academic courses and industrial seminars on advanced software topics, training thousands of software professionals throughout the United States and Canada.

Dr. Donald A. Sparks is Professor of International Economics. He is also a visiting Professor of Economics at Stetson University's Innsbruck School of Business in Austria. He has also served as a Senior Fulbright Professor of Economics at Maribor, Slovenia. Dr. Sparks holds a B.A. from George Washington University, and a M.A. and Ph.D. from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK.

Dr. Mark A. Bebensee is Associate Provost of The Citadel. He has previously served as Head of the Department of Business Administration and Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies at The Citadel. Dr. Bebensee earned a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Millsaps College and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Economics from Duke University.

Mr. Kevin Metzger is the Multimedia Lab Manager and Trainer at The Citadel. He has two Associate degrees, a B.S. in Graphic Arts Management, various IT Certifications, and over thirty-three years experience in the field of Graphics and Design.

Dr. Janette Moody received her M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida. She received her B.S.B.A. in Statistics from the University of Florida and Certification as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida. Dr. Moody has been a member of The Citadel faculty since 1993.

Ms. Patricia McArver holds a B.A. and M.A. in Mass Communications from UNC-Chapel Hill. She teaches Business Communications at The Citadel and is also Director of the Oral Communications Lab. Her experience includes communications and marketing in higher education as well as news and editorial writing for radio and newspapers in Virginia and Georgia.
